Exclusive Packing List for Asian Students






It is undeniable to say that living abroad, especially in western countries, is sometimes inconvenient for us as an Asian student. So, we, as your ‘Glaswegian guidance’, will recommend useful packing-list that is exclusively tailored-made for the Asians!

1. Heattech
The first thing that you need to know before you arrive in Scotland is that IT IS ((SUPER)) COLD AND THE WIND IS SO STRONG IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY so, the most important thing is to make yourself warm. ‘Heat Teach’ from Uniqlo is essential because don't have the walk-in store here in Glasgow. Even though you can purchase them online when you arrive but, somehow we feel that the deal in our own countries is cheaper!

2. Portable Bidet
If you are an Asian girl, you will understand that when we use the toilet, we need ‘WATER’ (you know it)😜. We STRONGLY recommend the ‘portable bidet’. It will make your toilet experience in Scotland wayyyyy much better. It can be found in Amazon and Shopee.




3. Medicine
Another thing that you should consider bringing to Scotland is ‘medicine’. We would recommend you to pack some general medicine that you normally use back in your country because it might take you around 13 days to get the appointment with the GP.

4. Rice cooker
If you are a rice freak like us, you will definitely need to bring a rice cooker. And by the rice cooker, we don’t mean the pathetic one. We mean the advance one with the timer and multiple cooking functions. It made your life way easier in every way. At least the texture of rice reminds you of ‘home.’
5. Small sets of anything that fit your luggage
Apart from your local cooking paste, most of the essential things can be found in Asian supermarket which is also written in our blog (Don't forget to check it out!). 
We will only recommend you to bring a small set of cooking sauces, makeup, clothing, etc., since most of the things can be found here in the store or online!

6. Adapters and Universal extension cords
It would be such a waste of money and time if you had to buy all of your electric devices again. So, universal extension cord is a handy gadget that's worth sacrificing some more space in the luggage!
**Don't forget to check voltage of your home electric devices (one of our friends' rice cooker has exploded because of the different voltage 😓)

Scots struggles It is true that we are now having a very good time here, in Scotland, but there are also struggles that make our days here difficult. We won’t be talking about the exams and university courses because we believe that studying is always hard no matter where you are in this world (lol).
